Our programs and community rely on the knowledge and experience of others. These volunteers bring much needed skills to help guide and shape the future of FBO.
Kris Coleman
PresidentKris served as an Intelligence Officer and Security Officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, and as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He is the CEO and founder of Red Five, a bespoke security solutions provider.
He provides oversight and direction for the FBO mission and believes in individual resiliency. He is the proud owner of Vader, a 2022 Land Rover Defender and prefers to be out on the trail with his FBO teammates.
Greg Walton
Vice President
FounderGreg spent nearly 10 years in the US Army and over 20 as an FBI Special Agent. He currently works as a contractor providing training in firearms, tactics, leadership, and off-pavement driving.
As a co-founder of FBO, Greg realized the value in the overland experience for himself and others. He can often be found in the workshop, helping with teammates’ projects or maintaining and improving his own 1993 Land Cruiser, Xena.
Brandon Crook
Secretary/TreasurerBrandon began his service with the US Navy as a Corpsman, responsible for the health and care of US Marines. His service continues as the executive director of Heroes Resource Center, a non-profit dedicated to providing resources and services to Veterans, Service Members, and their families
He provides administrative oversight and support for FBO when not out on the trail in Fenrir, a purpose built Chevy Silverado pickup.
Jeff Faulkner
Board MemberJeff Faulkner retired in 2023 from the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), where he served as Chief Financial Officer and previously as Acting President and CEO. During his tenure, he also led the organization’s philanthropy, research, and evaluation initiatives.
Jeff brings more than 30 years of experience across the nonprofit, agribusiness, and specialty chemicals sectors, with particular expertise in financial leadership, operational strategy, and scaling mission-driven organizations.
Jeff holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
Alison Levine
Board MemberAlison is a polar explorer, mountaineer, and leadership expert who completed the Adventure Grand Slam—climbing the highest peak on each continent and skiing to both the North and South Poles. She also served as team captain of the first American Women’s Everest Expedition.
Levine previously worked in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries and later in finance on Wall Street, including serving as Deputy Finance Director for Arnold Schwarzenegger.
She later taught as an adjunct professor at the United States Military Academy and now serves on the board and faculty of the Thayer Leadership Group, developing leaders through lessons from extreme environments.
Despite three heart surgeries and living with Raynaud’s disease, she continues to push the limits of exploration and leadership.
David Fritz
Board MemberDavid Fritz is a seasoned marketing leader with more than 20 years of experience driving growth for high-tech and B2B organizations. Throughout his career, David has led initiatives spanning field marketing, demand generation, and go-to-market strategy while partnering closely with sales and executive leadership teams to align marketing with business outcomes and long-term growth.
In addition to his professional work, David is passionate about leadership development and frequently speaks on personal growth and leadership principles. He is a DISC Leadership Certified Facilitator and Maxwell Leadership Certified Team Member. David is a proud native Texan growing up in a 6th generation farm family with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife management.
Pete Sweetser
Board MemberPete Sweetser was born in the UK and spent nearly 20 years as a Customs Officer, including a decade as a specialist investigator, working alongside customs agencies around the world.
In 2000–2001, he and his wife Michele completed a global overland expedition from London to Malaysia in a former Camel Trophy Land Rover 110—one of the first expeditions to drive into China from Nepal and exit through Laos.
After moving to the United States, Pete has spent over 17 years with Land Rover dealerships as a Guild member, helping develop off-road training and customer driving programs.
Pete is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a Tread Lightly! Master Trainer, and consults on expedition logistics and customs procedures through his company, Orange Expeditions.
