FBO Ambassadors
Fox Bravo Overland relies on great people who believe in our mission. We are pleased to recognize these pillars in their communities and to introduce these ambassadors who spread the word about FBO.
FBO Ambassadors:
1. Help share the Fox Bravo Overland mission with organizations and corporations to secure funding and support.
2. Help identify organizations and individuals who would benefit from participation in our program and encourage them to join us.
3. Join us on our FBO Expeditions as support staff and participate as a teammate on our alumni adventures.
If you know someone who would be a good representative of FBO as part of our ambassador program, please let us know!

Alison Levine
Alison Levine is a history-making polar explorer and mountaineer. She served as team captain of the first American Women’s Everest Expedition, climbed the highest peak on each continent and skied to both the North and South Poles—a feat known as the Adventure Grand Slam—which only twenty people in the world have achieved.
Her success in extreme environments is noteworthy given she has had three heart surgeries and suffers from Raynaud’s disease, which causes the arteries that feed her fingers and toes to collapse in cold weather—leaving her at extreme risk for frostbite.
In addition to climbing mountains, Levine has also spent time climbing the corporate ladder. She had a successful career in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries in the US and in Asia. After earning her MBA she transitioned to the world of finance and worked in various positions on Wall Street before serving as Deputy Finance Director for Arnold Schwarzenegger in his successful bid to become governor of California.
When not challenging herself in the outdoors, Levine focuses on training others to become strong leaders. She spent four years as an adjunct professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point. In 2013 she transitioned from training cadets to working with corporate leaders and currently serves on the board and faculty of the Thayer Leadership Group at West Point—one of the nation’s premiere executive leader development programs.
Dr. Bill Thornton
Dr. Bill Thornton brings a lifetime of resilience, service, and leadership to his role as an ambassador for Fox Bravo Overland. Raised in extreme hardship, he credits early mentors and faith with shaping his belief in the power of community, purpose, and guidance—values that align closely with FBO’s mission.
After serving in the U.S. Army as an automotive mechanic in Germany, Dr. Thornton pursued careers defined by challenge and meaning, including commercial swordfishing across the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean. These experiences, combined with his own early trauma, solidified his commitment to helping others navigate adversity.
Dr. Thornton earned a Ph.D. in Psychology and has spent decades serving vulnerable populations. He has led a statewide mental health agency, served within the Veterans Health network, and specializes in treating PTSD and substance use disorders. His work has helped countless veterans and first responders confront trauma, isolation, and suicidal ideation—making Fox Bravo Overland’s experiential, team-based model a natural extension of his life’s work.
An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Thornton believes deeply in the therapeutic value of adventure, shared hardship, and purposeful challenge. He continues to serve his community by founding and leading a nonprofit that uses outdoor adventure to build confidence, resilience, and community engagement among minority and underserved youth in Arkansas.
Dr. Thornton is proud to support Fox Bravo Overland and its mission to restore connection, purpose, and belonging through intentional wilderness expeditions.
